WOOHOO I've been waiting for this day :) My fave guy won last year, (although to be honest my stepson bought us his cd and well..it kinda stinks LOL) I cannot wait to start this season :) Took me all afternoon to figure out how to record dtv onto my dinosaur vcr lol. I don't know if you can even still buy blank vcr tapes. I will find out tomorrow, or else record over some old home movies or something. I'M KIDDING lol I'll find something because we do our youth group on Wed. nights and I don't want to miss a thing! I missed ONE EPISODE the whole last season, auditions and all. That is dedication people. If it weren't for silly hubby thinking filing our taxes at H&R Block was more important than viewing my show I'd have held steady with my no missed episodes LOL. Loyalty, its hard to find these days! Greetings, blogging from the library (ugh lol). My internet is off for another week or so so I am slumming at the public library.

1. Syesha Mercado- WOW she was BORN for drama! Loved her and Ricky Minor dancing ;) this is awesome and she looks so cute also. Love this!

2. Jason Castro- fairly good considering how far outside his comfort zone this probably is lol. I am seeing a whole new level of emotional connection there. Did he wipe his eyes at the end?

3. Brooke White- beautiful dress :) Ok this song is just TOO sad for her, she puts it all out there emotionally anyway he shouldn't have even told her what the song was really about. she can't handle all that emotion and kind of bombed :(

4. David Archuletta- very weak start. BORING. Good ending. Seemed like an NKOTB ballad at the end (ok who knows what NKOTB stands for?!) I totally agreed with Simon it was forgettable.

5. Carly Smithson- I predict major melodrama from her. It was good, not as good as Syesha. my problem with Carly is I dont know what genre she should be in and I dont think she does either.

6. David Cook- different but good! Love him no matter what. Overall excellent, showcased his ability to crossover genres.

Can we PLEASE move on to a new genre?! Ugh..

1. AMANDA OVERMEYER- she's a 1 trick pony for sure. Even Hubby, who is NOT an AI fan said she sounds the same every week. She's getting slightly better OR like a fungus amongus is growing on me. I enjoy seeing her enjoy herself how's that?

2. KRISTY LEE COOK- ok Bren I have hopped OFF the KL wagon and MY MEASLY VOTE will not save her this week LOL I didnt vote for her. This was odd for me, too low? something...weird arrangement? I keep anticipating...something...anything...I love her but not this week and I think this was a watershed moment for her :(

3. DAVID ARCHULETTA- hmm I feel like he's getting kind of boring. This seemed Love Boat'ish. Less lip-licking so far OH SNAP there he went. Ending was better. He's so cute. (Did you catch Regis & Kelly last week when Anderson Cooper was on? Kelly did a HILARIOUS imitation of Paula threatening to pull David's head off and mount it on the dash cracked me UP) The screaming girls are too cute but he is so shell shocked every week...I think he's just too young.

4. MICHAEL JOHNS- starting WOW factor, weird middle, awkward seeming. Slower is better for him apparently, I agreed with Simon it was all over the place.

5. BROOKE WHITE- Slight twists, changed up a bit, working for her though! Fresher, funner but very very true to the original. WOW I totally disagreed with the judges YOU WOWED ME BROOKE :)

6. DAVID COOK- Oh yeah :) He's who Michael Johns WANTS to be! He is sooooo awesome. Oh PREDICTABLE?! no way there is a difference in PREDICTABLE and CONSISTENT :) I think Simon doesnt like that DC gets more attention than his teacher's pet Carly.

OKAY now, this was AWESOME tonight :D And I got word today that Boomama is doing the Mr. Linky thing again this year woohoo so if you blog AI or even just want to read them head over there sometime tonight or tomorrow a.m. and get a look-see at the AI blogs listed :D I LOVED doing it last year woohoo. Ok on to my monologue'ing ;)

1. SYESHA MERCADO- Ehhh, not my fave from her. Good enough vocal but is it top 12 worthy? I dunno, we'll see. Ending was good :) she is so pretty.

2. CHIKEZIE EZE- Its a hoedown in Hollywood! Is that a sweater Blake Lewis wore last season? What the heck is UP with this arrangement?! LOL its very gutsy and brave but ya know what its kinda working on me, I actually liked it. (Is Ryan on crack tonight? That was hilarious LOLOL)

3. RAMIELE MALUBAY- Amazing vocals as always. Boring song, pretty but very sleepy.

4. JASON CASTRO- He must be growing on me. He has beautiful eyes. Hmm its not terrible-not great. I agree with Paula he is heartfelt.

5. CARLY SMITHSON- She's so pretty. Weird arrangement of song. She must be channeling Amanda Overmeyer lol. I'm not feelin it dawg. The judges seem scripted in their comments of her IMO.

6. DAVID COOK- OMGosh I LOVE IT FROM NOTE 1! Dang he's a hawtie ;) That was maybe THE most "relevant" performance I've personally ever seen on Idol! :D The absolute *click* of him settling into his niche floored me, almost made me cry on a rockin fast song LOL woohoo go David!

7. BROOKE WHITE- OMGosh again, love her voice, love her. 100% perfect. But as "relevant"? Time will tell. She's definitely in my top3. Made me cry. She is such an earth mother, old soul. And barefoot to boot I love it!

8. DAVID HERNANDEZ- Corny, dorky looking, vocals only ok. I can't believe Luke Menard went home and David H stayed :/ (Simon called it corny too lol)

9. AMANDA OVERMEYER- Wow she didn't scare me. She's actually *singing this week-not shouting. Not horrible-not great, at least she's not acting like a zombie this week :)

10. MICHAEL JOHNS- Good-not great. That was a boring song kind of. (ok on the replay at the end it was a little better but throughout the song I kept waiting for more and lost out on the now). I think David Cook totally outdoes him. But Michael has nicer hair LOL. I am tired of hearing Paula fawn over him though, I think she has a crush ;)

11. KRISTY LEE COOK- Very risky- its sort of working but that weird fast beat in the background is very odd and distracting. Her vocals are 100% :) She is in my top 3. Not her best but more of a bad song arrangement choice.

12. DAVID ARCHULETTA- OH NO he forgot the lyrics :( His nerves are absolutely killing him tonight and it shows. I can see a total lack of confidence, I hope he recovers by next week. Bless his heart he's so YOUNG and wears his heart on his sleeve. Ugh poor guy :(

WELL its been a busy few days :) So I'll just do a little bullet type thingie to recap for you ;)

• yesterday I went to Walmart to buy Hawger's bike. It was marked $69 and rang up $49! I'm alllllll about saving of the dough.
  
• so we went and bought Lovey one also. even though his birthday isnt til June
  
• And Wildchild got a bike too. so did we really save any dough?1 I think not LOL
  
• Felt so lucky I went to get gas and bought a powerball ticket. ($200mil!, here's hoping!)
  
  
• Decided to run to Sonic as it was lunchtime. Lovey (who is sick with strep and had been to the dr.) was with me but he just wanted a drink. So I got a very friendly Sonic-server-guy. I paid for me food and said "I have a question, what are the chances of me getting a free sample of something?" (cue in Lovey dying of embarassment here) He said "what were you wanting?" I said "well I am wanting to try one of those Java Chillers but I dont want to pay $2.49 if I dont even like it." SO he said he'd ask and see and left. Lovey was about to DIEEEEEEEE (lol) I said "Son, NEVER let me know if something embarasses you 'cause it makes my DAY" ;) So the guy brought me back a WHOLE pretty Java Chiller! I was so excited. So then to further embarass my precious little Lovey I chatted with my friendly server a bit more ;) I said " you see that camo painted truck over there? The guy driving it is wearing bright orange! Do you think he wants to be noticed in all that camo?" He just laughed and then I left. Lovey said they probably put esSPITto instead of espresso in my Java Chiller ;) I was highly impressed at Sonic's friendliness and willingness to let me try something before I buy it. And just to let you know...it was AWESOME!

• I am TOTALLY shocked at Survivor last night! Joel should have stayed a lot longer, Ozzy seems very dumb this time. Cirie is sooooooo ruling the roost this time and I HATE it. I HATED last nights TC :( I do like it that the tribes are split up better this time. I cannnnnot BELIEVE Chet is still there. That 1st challenge was awesome last night LOL.

1. ASIAH EPPERSON- fun-sassy-pretty good

2. KADY MALLOY- WOW I think this may have been that "real malloy" the judges have been waiting for. :) Hmm ok maybe not. LOL

3. AMANDA OVERMEYER- slightly better than last week, it might not give me nightmares but I totally canNOT see that she has an ounce of talent.

4. CARLY SMITHSON- her accent is more pronounced this week (maybe because her Mum is visiting?). She is very pretty tonight. 100% IMO I disagree w/Simon. Her mom is GORGEOUS :)

5. KRISTY LEE COOK (yes Bren she sold her horse ;) shaky start, better middle, shouty end. Not her best performance but I still love her. (Positivety Paula?) (FORGETTABLE Simon?! I dont think so). KL is who KADY wants to be.

6. RAMIEL MALUBAY- very good vocal, I'm just not a huge fan. But either she's getting better or maybe just growing on me LOL.

7. BROOKE WHITE- my fave ;) very good, LOVE her so much! Not crazy about the song but excellent performance. OH YAY Simon loved her again!

8. SYESHA MERCADO- so pretty :) Flawless voice, I think she could definitely be a star, WOW FACTOR ALERT :)

1. LUKE MENARD- very good, solid, not wow. He is SO cute, like a construction worker you keep driving by hoping it gets hot so he takes his shirt off and..oh I digress. GIRLY?! SIMON?! LUke is HAWT not girly! Simon seems in a harsh mood tonight already :(

2. DAVID ARCHULETA- He could do monk chanting and make it good. He's gona BE the next American Idol :D

3. DANNY NORIEGA- gag-off pitch HORRIBLE I agree w/Simon ;)

4. DAVID HERNANDEZ- his whole eyes/nose/mouth/teeth are identical to a girl I went to HS with named Cheryl so that kind of throws me every time. He is a good solid singer, makes weird faces. Why are alot of their tongues blue? Ending not as good.

5. MICHAL JOHNS- very natural on stage, perfect song choice, very cute.

6. DAVID COOK my home state MO guy ;) Lovey likes him. VERY VERY GOOD! I could see hearing that on the radio, very good vocal control, definite WOW factor!

7. JASON CASTRO- I felt he should have went home weeks ago BUT tonight was good, Im not a fan but I kinda like this one. (what song is this) wow Simon liked it :O

8. CHIKEZIE- he has tiny teeth. Not bad, just not my style.

VOTED FOR ok I didnt vote I was busy watching that new show New Amsterdam which was AWESOME more on that below but if I had voted I'd have voted for Luke, David & David.

Did anyone watch this? I was pleasantly surprised! I dont watch ANY network tv except AI and Survivor because of pure filth and dead body violence etc. but this show was GOOD I cant wait to watch more, It had several opportunities to go the way of most prime time crime shows but it didnt and the substory is awesome, more more more!

AI 2/27/08 GIRLS '70's NIGHT (late posting lol)

I lost my notes from the girls last week but I hate not to post them so I guess I'll just do it after the fact.

1. CARLY SMITHSON- Pretty good, not perfect. She seems a little *bouncy* More comfortable this week, shouty at the end.

2. SYESHA MERCADO- WOW factor for me! Love her! she is beautiful and has great vocals, she seems very versatile.

3. BROOKE WHITE- She is my favorite girl, the guitar is kinda distracting to me, I think the judges are going to hate this. I love her voice but I feel she made a bad choice and it feels kinda coffee-bar'ish to me. I love her but I think the judges wont like it. *YAY I am so glad to be wrong the judges loved it!

4. RAMIEL MALUBAY- she has a perfect powerhouse voice, very true and pure but I'm not a huge fan.



5. KRISTY LEE COOK- good job, better than last week. Did her voice break during her big note?

6. AMANDA OVERMEYER- horrible, scarier than last week, her vocals are ALL off, worst hair EVER, yuck yuck yuck.

7. ALAINA WHITAKER- poor posture, better on the chorus but not great. Simon called her "the dark horse of the competition and relevant for today" but I am not sure I agree..

8. ALEXANDREA LUSHINGTON- horrible outfit (vest, cargo shorts) blah blah performance, I agree with Simon, she is struggling and appearing very uncomfy and whiny.



9. KADY MALLOY- they never sound very good when they come down the stairs singing. Her singing stinks tonight, really bad, she is so sulky its very unattractive, she is SMIRKY. I dont like her.



10. ASHIAH EPPERSON- Pitchy, too low for her, not good-not horrible, shouty big notes.

I voted for SYESHA, BROOKE AND KRISTY LEE


I have been trying to watch the results show while Survivor is on commercials (oh DVR oh DVR how do I miss thee?) I *think Alexandrea went home which doesnt surprise me and ALAINA WHITAKER who, while not my favorite should NEVER EVER have went home before scary Amanda :( that was weird. Jason Yaeger and Robbie Carrico went home for the guys, both which doesnt surprise me either :) OK now to post the guys doin the 80's last night! xoxo melzie

AI GUYS 2/26 '70'S NIGHT

1. MICHAEL JOHNS-so cute :) Seems kind of breathless, too much voice-quaver-thingie, I'm just not feelin it much thru the verses, and the chorus seems shaky to me.

2. JASON CASTRO- sounds SO dorky LOL he looks like he's gona be so edgy then its just Love Boat or something. I agree with Simon it was *schmaltzy* He has nice teeth though...

3. LUKE MENARD- GAW he is a doll! I'm a 5:00shadow kinda girl ;) I WANT to like this :/ its pretty good, just not wow, he is ACTOR cute (I wrote that then Ryan called him 'Dawson's Creek' LOL)

4. ROBBIE CARRICO- very cute, very good job, I think he's authentic enough (until David Cook sang then I kinda get what they're saying about Robbie), very comfy in this genre I think he's having fun.

5. DANNY NORIEGA- bluch so arrogantly average. He DOES stand out but I'm not sure if its a good or a bad thing.

6. DAVID HERNADEZ- to me this is the Phil from last season (bald navy guy). He's very good he is just not a star. He has a twitchy mouth. Good vocals, its just good not great.

7. JASON YAEGER- he is SO cute but SO off pitch. I always WANT him to do well but he's just not doin it for me.

8. CHIKEZIE- slow start, GREAT middle, oh some SASS ;) A lot of fun to watch, totally on key, yay the best so far :)

9. DAVID COOK- word nerd I LOVE that ;) I am a word nerd too! I'm from Missouri too! Freaky huh? LOL he is cute, FLAWLESS performance, I could so see him as a NOW performer! New best so far LOL BUT he didnt do any favors trash talking Simon and getting visibly irate over it :/

10. DAVID ARCHULETA- O M G he makes me CRY, he MOVES me. He is so pure and so vulnerable I want to hug him (NOTE I sound like PAULA lol ackkk) His mom and dad crying OMG that was so unforgetable, I think we have our AI winner yall can go on home now...go on try out next season its done ;)

AMERICAN IDOL 2/20 TOP 12 GIRLS TAKE THE STAGE

I love Idol Blogging :D OVERALL I dont think the ladies are as strong as the men this year BUT since some were sick I'll reserve that judgement until next week ;)

1. KRISTY LEE COOK- very pretty girl, doing a weird eye thing, fairly ok singer, song is monotone, too safe?

2. JOANN BORGELLA-I'm just not feelin it. I was more of a Carden fan myself. She seems very nasally to me.

3. ALAINA WHITAKER-I dont think I can get past her diztiness (that a word? LOL). She's shouting in the middle. Good finish though.

4. AMANDA OVERMEYER-she scared me :( seriously. ::note to Ryan, raise your eyes about 12 inches there bud::

5. AMY DAVIS-honestly never heard her before. Pretty voice be seemed totally off key 100million% to me. Very pretty slanty eyes :)

6. BROOKE WHITE- one of my favorite audition'ers :) Good start, good middle, stop doing the weird my-hair-is-sexy thing. Very good job! I like her :)

7. ALEXANDREA LUSHINGTON-solid vocals, boring song, I like her funky style.

8. KADY MALLOY-GORGEOUS girl, definite danger of becoming nasally, trying to oversing a bit, she can hit those hi notes but IMO she is very nasally.

9. ASIAH EPPERSON (from MO lol) LOVED her audition, LOVE her husky voice, very good vocals but performance was kind of manic. Overperformed but at least she showed pep. She is adorable!

10. RAMIELE MALUBAY-I think she has WOW factor for singing but not so much performance wise. Her voice is GREAT but I am not a huge fan of hers yet.

11. SYESHA 'YES' MERCADO- GORGEOUS girl! I didnt like her original audition but loved her Hollywood week. Has a lot of heart, WOW factor for me! Love her! She is SASSY lol.

12. CARLY SMITHSON-her eyebrows originally scared me, better tonight. Gorgeous voice but I am not a fan of hers so far. Kinda blah and pitchy in parts. Are the judges biased towards her or what? Oh wait, YAY SIMON I agree hehe.

Miscellany

Well hello blog readers! All I dunno, 5 of you LOL. How are you today? I am very good thanks for asking. I had a DAY yesterday a NO GOOD VERY BAD TERRIBLE DAY. I almost blogged about it then thought why let it live in infamy? I'll let it fade off into the sunset of my memory quietly ;)

I will however share the end of it. I love dvr. I HEART DVR. I pay $35 a month just to have dvr, my locals (because all I get otherwise is cbs and fox, no abc or nbc), and they make me pay for the smallest package which is Dish Family. So I set me dvr to record ALL my favorite shows, even though I am home to watch alot of them. But that way if I am running late or otherwise occupied I dont have to worry! Well the whole season of Amazing Race running over should have taught me a lesson. If something is delayed, the dvr only records from time A to time B. It doesnt account for delays or running over! And I didnt think of that! I didnt think of the AMERICAN IDOL FINALE RUNNING OVER PEOPLE. sob. So I was about 30 min. behind the show, (that way I can successfully ffwd thru commercials and such as Tony Bennet and Greeday and Sanjaya). So the dvr kicked off at 9:03ish and I was still about 20 min. from the end. So we get to the end, Blake and Jordin are standing there, on stage, with Ryan, who is dragging it out, and YOU GUESSED IT MY STINKIN DVR KICKED OFF BEFORE I SAW THE RESULTS. I mean like RYAN TOOK A DEEP BREATH AND off it went. I cried. I know its stupid, but I did. So I sent the kids to bed, trying to not be upset, when Wildchild runs in and says mom come here come here. We ran in my bedroom (I record on tv2) and he said I think we can still rewind it back! And YES WE COULD AND DID AND SAW THE END AND HE SAVED THE DAY :) Three cheers!

But that did make me realize my perspectives are probably way whacked. When was the last time I cried because I missed the end of a sermon at church? When was the last time I had to talk myself out of being upset because I had to stay home from church with a sick child? THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GOD'S BEFORE ME, what does that mean? Anything you put BEFORE or MORE VALUE on than God. Ouch.

Well today is a new day thank you Lord :) I am hoping to go to THE 100 MILE YARDSALE TOMORROW Its actually suppose to rain so I dont have concrete plans yet, that way I wont be disappointed if it rains out :) Its soooooooo fun I am a yardsale freak.

My flowers are all blooming out but my camera battery is still dead so no pics to show.

My cats have fleas and we are being eaten alive. I go to the vet today to get some flea dope for them. (and us lol).

Oprah a couple weeks ago was about the woman who was battered by her husband, and he made their son video it, did anyone see that? Well today was the follow up interview with the children, and I had my dvr set this whole time to record it and IT WAS ON YESTERDAY. I caught the last 60 seconds or so. I am going to email Oprah and protest.

I still havent turned my A/C on. I see how long we can go each year w/out using it. One year we went til mid July! (but my air was BROKEN that year LOL still though we were w/out air so it counts people!)

AMERICAN IDOL FINAL RECAP

Blake Lewis -

“You Give Love A Bad Name” - Loved this the first time and it was somewhat improved upon this time :) My kids LOVE him but he seems very limited in his ability to me.

“She Will Be Loved” - Hmm. Well, I dunno this wasnt great. But this is NOT my style of music AT ALL so maybe I'm biased by that but I dont think he did so hot on this.

“This Is My Now” - um ok NOT.

Jordin Sparks -

“Fighter” - Never heard this song (I listen to southern gospel and small bits of country ok people? LOL) but its young its edgy and she did a good job of it. She seems to do better when she stays still though.

“Broken Wing” - WOWSA that was awesome :) She did that song true justice. She is totally on fire tonight go Jordin!

“This Is My Now” - Aww I think we have a winner we have a winner folks! She sang it, she told the story, she FELT it wow that was definite YO Jordin, great job!

Who should win? - Um Jordin for sure :)

We had baseball til after 10pm so I watched it this morning, but another baseball mom and I were discussing it LOL. And she predicted (because I've never watched before this season!) that whoever the songwriters song suited was who would win it all. Well if that prediction holds true Jordin has it in the bag, that song was tailor made for her and when she got teary at the end saying THIS IS MY NOW wow was all I can say ;)
