Welcome to my little corner of blogland! This is the only sane spot I can come in my crazy life! :) Here I share my sometimes funny sometimes NOT-day to day insanity I call my life, along with my sweet wooly hubby & all our boys :)

LOL lots of changes!

I've got to stop waiting in between updates! Lets do this in a nutshell shall we?

-I quit my job at Wendy's! Won't go into details but it got very bad there very quickly, new (very inexperienced) general manager, 4 people including me quit within 7 days because of him and his disorganization and unprofessionalism, I know 2 more that will not be there much longer either.

-Came home ready to quit Mon. night, hubby was behind me all the way, noticed a phone number on my call ID 2x that was my former Wendy's manager who got fired, where she is managing/working now(check cashing/loan place). So I called her.

-She informs me she got my resume I faxed for her job opening, was I still at Wendy's? I said well I was today but not tomorrow (LOL), and furthermore WHAT resume, I never faxed one! She said well it came into her main office and they called her because it had Wendy's on the job reference. I guess God faxed it over for me because we have NO explanation LOL

-Long story short, I start Monday! Casual wear (right up my alley lol), customer service etc (right up my alley), and for the rest of summer only about 15 hrs a week (again, perfect!) Then in about a month if our quotas and stuff are still up I can go to 20-25 hrs, just in time for school starting :) I am happy its tailor made for me, plus its almost $1 an hr more than I was making.

-Our bankruptcy stuff is stalled out waiting for us to complete our financial class and in the meantime our mortgage co. has already scheduled for our house to be sold on the courthouse steps, our lawyer says they can stop it but I still worry myself sick.

-my fridge tried to die on me yesterday, God intervened and a miraculous recovery was had but I can pretty much be sure it was a warning sign. My a/c still keeps freezing up too :) Never boring is it?

-Baby Girl goes home tomorrow :(

-local 1st Baptist church has Bible school next week :)

-Hawger gets tonsils out next Wed. :/

-Ok thats all I can think of for now...xoxo melzie

in which melzie threw a snotty sad fit :(

Thanks for all the well wishes on the job front...

I hated HATED HATED the factory job. I bawled and squalled when I got home (still am actually) it was HORRIBLE =*( I don't know how in heck I will get up and go back it was so bad. I wanted to cry allllllll afternoon but I held it in and just lost it when I came home, esp. when I saw how clean the kids made the house for me if they can do their part I can do mine but I just dont know if I really can or not OMG IT WAS SO HORRIBLE. ::still crying::

its one of the top 2 hardest sewing jobs there. why oh WHY would they start me out so hard? thats like setting up for failure. they sew mens suits, so the real poufy shoulder thingie omg you have no idea how perfect you have to sew that sucker. the part I'm doing is there is 3 layers, bottom is the silky lining, then the real poufy shoulder paddy part, then the part I sew on so ok, the liner you want to sort of push, making puckers not pleats. The middle you want to keep very taut and almost pull it, then the top you kind of feed it in an arch to give it fullness. so push bottom pull middle push top all the while keeping the whole thing lined up on the straight edge and its a serging type knife so 1 chance only.

OMGOSH it was HORRIBLE. I cried and cried, I feel so bad because I WANT to be strong and CAPABLE but I'm not and I hate to say I cant or be a quitter...

I sent that part above to my friend BREN and here is what she responded...

You are not a quitter to make the decision to be happy in your life. You are not successful if you are not doing something you love to do. This job is just not for you.

ps did I mention this made my chest not as tight and thick to read these words and reread them? :) thanks bren.

Back to job hunting.

I love my hubby for not making me go back.

Melzie's Miscellany

WELL its been a busy few days :) So I'll just do a little bullet type thingie to recap for you ;)

  • yesterday I went to Walmart to buy Hawger's bike. It was marked $69 and rang up $49! I'm alllllll about saving of the dough.
  • so we went and bought Lovey one also. even though his birthday isnt til June
  • And Wildchild got a bike too. so did we really save any dough?1 I think not LOL
  • Felt so lucky I went to get gas and bought a powerball ticket. ($200mil!, here's hoping!)

  • Decided to run to Sonic as it was lunchtime. Lovey (who is sick with strep and had been to the dr.) was with me but he just wanted a drink. So I got a very friendly Sonic-server-guy. I paid for me food and said "I have a question, what are the chances of me getting a free sample of something?" (cue in Lovey dying of embarassment here) He said "what were you wanting?" I said "well I am wanting to try one of those Java Chillers but I dont want to pay $2.49 if I dont even like it." SO he said he'd ask and see and left. Lovey was about to DIEEEEEEEE (lol) I said "Son, NEVER let me know if something embarasses you 'cause it makes my DAY" ;) So the guy brought me back a WHOLE pretty Java Chiller! I was so excited. So then to further embarass my precious little Lovey I chatted with my friendly server a bit more ;) I said " you see that camo painted truck over there? The guy driving it is wearing bright orange! Do you think he wants to be noticed in all that camo?" He just laughed and then I left. Lovey said they probably put esSPITto instead of espresso in my Java Chiller ;) I was highly impressed at Sonic's friendliness and willingness to let me try something before I buy it. And just to let you know...it was AWESOME!

  • We're supposedly having a big 'blizzard' comparable to the 'blizzard of '79'.
  • but its not even sticking in my yard LOL (so far)
  • I'm ready for Spring.

  • I start my new job Mon. and I am very nervous. Not so much about the job but about my ability to commit and stick with it.

  • I am very glad Danny Noriega was eliminated from AI last night, not so much for Luke Menard.
I am very shocked that Amanda Overmeyer is still in it. I was not surprised by the ones that went home.

  • I am TOTALLY shocked at Survivor last night! Joel should have stayed a lot longer, Ozzy seems very dumb this time. Cirie is sooooooo ruling the roost this time and I HATE it. I HATED last nights TC :( I do like it that the tribes are split up better this time. I cannnnnot BELIEVE Chet is still there. That 1st challenge was awesome last night LOL.

ok off to watch our "blizzard" xoxo melzie

PS I have tons of pics to share later but for now I am going to take advantage of a snow day and make my kids clean their rooms ;)

smallish update on me too lol

You'd never know it by this blog but my life doesn't revolve around AMERICAN IDOL ;)

Today is my HAWGER'S birthday! He is 6 yrs old today. I'll get a pic of him later to put up here.

Today is also my ANNIVERSARY! 10 yrs strong! He's been married to ME longer now than HER (the ex, she left right before their 10th anniversary). And honey, when you read this (he does lurk and read my blog ;) Know that I love you, and I like you. You're my best friend (sorry T.H. BFF LOL) and if I could go back I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. I do have regrets, for every stupid fight, every moment lost fighting or being mad. I cant wait to see how happy the next 10 yrs is as we live and learn together! Love you baby doll, more than yesterday, less than tomorrow. "You are the air I breathe, and I love you more with every breath I take" ;) (I read that in a book one time and told him that with a straight face...then we both cracked up hehe)

Pictures of us from the last year:

In other news, I start a new job Monday at a sewing factory :/ not my first choice but we need the money, I'd like to commit to staying and paying off our van payment but we'll see how I do before making any promises LOL. xoxo melzie
