Pics made at a temporary thing at Kmart. Turned out kind of odd, sorry for the pic of a pic. Its nice sized, 20x16 I think. It just wasn't the best of all three of them so I felt they kind of ripped me off, like wanting me to pay more to get the 'better' pic instead of using it for the advertised package. Didn't work in their favor though lol I don't mind to say no.

Hope all stayed safe in the path of Ike. We got 40 mi. an hr. winds last night and some rain. Lots of branches down but nothing major, power was out about 5 hrs.

Hubby got a job! PRAISE GOD! And the starting money is more than we expected, and I think we are going to catch up and be ok :)

Wildchild is having blood pressure issues, they took him off his adhd meds and still high bp. So he has to STAY OFF HIS ADHD MEDS TIL JANUARY TIL HE SEES A CARDIOLOGIST. By then I'LL need some high bp meds also LOL.

Today is my middle sister's birthday..Happy Birthday M!

My baby sister called me this a.m. to tell me there was a murder/suicide across the street from her last night OYE! Scary stuff. no she doesnt live in a 'hood...she lives out in the BOONIES lol. Weird...

Amazing Race- Too early to pick faves, I would have like to have seen that Ari and Stealla go farther they'd have been fun to watch. The Goths are fun to watch :) Me and my boys ROFL last night at those braying non-moving donkeys LOLOL that was HILARIOUS.

I guess I got booted from the "new" Q4P rings, at one time the rejection of a blog ring would have killed me...now I'll shrug and move on. I did get my sewing room almost cleaned out last night, and will finish it later today :)

update on Lovey's MRI

Well he has to have surgery on Sept. 7. He will be in the hosp. for aprx 7 days, then home for another 2-3 wks then ease back into his activites from there. I was upset, then after I calmed down and told him HE was very very upset, so of course I got upset again. Please pray for him, and for our finances, although I guess that answers my question of why God closed every single job opportunity to me because no job would have let me take a month or so off to deal with all that after starting for only a couple weeks. I also found out that my kids' state health insurance is now going to carry a premium of $92 EACH and that will almost triple if I get a job making more than $600 a month. I dont know how we'll afford the $92 much less any more. I am very very down and stressed tonight...now begins the process of trying to arrange for someone to watch the other kids, and all the details and expense of me staying up there with him (StLouis, 2 hrs north of us). Sigh..

In which I reveal the true scope of my silliness that I shall probably pass along to my kids...

We have no social life. Walmart is the highlight of our weekends. Although since hubby is racing now that does somewhat compensate for and count as a social life. But when all else fails...we go to the Huck's convenience store. Because let me tell you. I first used their bathroom about 2 mos ago, and came out and couldnt stop giggling. So next opportunity I got, I took my kids along. Sharing the joy if you will :)

THE HAND DRYERS, they put out so much air you cant help but laugh in glee! So now, going to Huck's-it rates right up with browing Petco! Maybe even higher!
Lovey and I were out and about alone last week, and yes even though he's almost 11 I still make him go with me in the ladies room.

This kind of fun, you just cant buy it people :)

awww my big THIRTEEN earned his first "real" money (other than from us lol). He did good so they said he can mow every week, and he may have another one lined up also :) He thought i was NUTS for wanting a pic ;-P

My freecycle score from last week :) Super nice bunny cage. We go to the flea market every good Friday so Iwill pick up a bunny this week :) They're like $3 LOL

My uber expensive Rowdyboy, he has grown A BUNCH this last month since he was sick and on antibiotics. He is as big easily as his mom (she is rather petite) he is only 5 mos old :) I heart my puddy tat.

Last week was very very rough, in the finance dept, in the marriage dept. But things are better today, I watched Matthew Hagee (tv preacher John Hagee's son, now apparently a tv preacher also!) I get SO MUCH everytime I watch this young man he is ON FIRE! I took FOUR PAGES of notes and ONLY CAUGHT THE LAST 15 MIN lol. I am actually considering ordering this series from him, let me find a link... hmm I cant find it on their site :( Maybe its that new. Anyways it was about finding your purpose and doing your purpose, and it was just spot on for me :) Love it when that happens. Last week was horrible but today is a new day a new week and God's mercies are new every day.

I have a full week, today my older two have adhd med checkups and tomorrow therapy for Lovey & ladies Bible study at night. Wed. I have a house to clean, Thurs. is Lovey's trip to our state capital which I am still leery of whether I want to go or not (10 hr round trip on a school bus!). Fri. is a half day for the bigger ones and Hawger has no school and that starts spring break, no school til Mar. 26! Time is flying by so fast :) Easter is coming up, I LOVE celebrating Easter at church, I love the songs I love the message its awesome :) I got up this a.m. and had NO COFFEE it apparently never made it home from wal-mart! I'M JONESIN FOR SOME JOE! I made me some hot cocoa but that didnt even begin to scratch my caffeine itch LOL. Lovey got baptized last night :) My boys are all getting so big. Here are a couple of somewhat blurry pics, btw the HEATER on the baptistry is BROKEN so it was COLD there were 5 kids in all got "dunked" last night and we got tickled hearing them GASP when they got in the water lol. Proud momma moment you see here :)

In other news my sweet Rob and Amber got Philiminated last night on Amazing Race :*( I LOVEEEE them and hate to see them go. I dont really have a team I am necessarily pulling for now. I like Terri and Ian more this time around, I dont think Uchenna and Joyce need to win again. Hmm I dunno we'll see. Anyways, Rob and Amber have this really stupid show on FX or something where he is trying to be a pro poker player, I cant even watch it for their sake LOL its THAT dumb. One seems so short, one so long.

5 years ago Hawger was an anniversary gift to us. We had debated long and hard over having another child after Lovey's special needs. But momma knows when her heart is missing one of its pieces, even one not yet met. So he came to us. Hubby has an older son who he raised and I helped raise the 2nd half of his childhood. He has behavioral/emotional problems that were and are ongoing (but he has since moved out). Wildchild has ADHD and let me emphasize the HHHHH part of it. Then Lovey, who has his disabilities and ADD on top of that. I know that Hubby just had a hard time imagining where a baby would fit into that mix :) But along came Hawger and then...then I see the gift God gave me of healthy chubby legs, long attention spans, this little (ok not so little lol) BOY who is let me tell you ALL BOY he loves cars and frogs and spongebob and he is just the little ray of sunshine that keeps me going when life gets me down. He is a GIFT straight from GOD and I cannot imagine our lives without him. I hugged him last night and said "lets stay up all night and then you can stay 4 forever!" he said "MOOOOOOOM"

And yes today is my 9th wedding anniversary! Hubby was married before and is 11 yrs older than me. We had a very rocky start to our relationship (due primarily to my immaturity). I had Lovey and then we broke up for almost 2 yrs. But God wouldnt let either of us get the other out of our hearts and minds and brought us back together again. I cannot imagine my life without him, he is my rock, my absolute security blanket. I take him for granted, I take stuff out on him, we fight like cats and dawgs LOL but I love every minute good and bad. And in the last year or so of seeing his relationship with God mature, omigosh, that is some heady stuff watching the man you love grow and serve the Lord. THAT is true love :) I look forward to each chapter of our lives together and I love the security of his unconditional love :)

Misc musings :)

Well school started back today! The return to (relative) normalcy is soooo welcomed. Even the kids were somewhat happy to go back lol. It gets old hanging out with mom and cleaning house every day.

I spent all of Christmas sick as a dog and all of new years hormonal as heck. Now I am feeling more myself again :) I can smell, I can hear, I can breathe w/out coughing and I can handle the little stresses without my head spinning around and smoke rolling from my ears :) We (as in hubby and me) are trying to work up a budget that includes letting him race. Problem is we literally live paycheck to paycheck there is NEVER any left over. There's only marginally ever enough and we stay about a month behind. Time for melzie to face facts and go back to work. I love staying at home, but I've got to resign myself to the fact and somehow embrace it. I am going tomorrow afternoon to apply for two decent jobs I know of open, one is a secretary to the city manager and assistant to the city clerk. I could definitely do that job, but the payscale is awesome which means there will be alot of not only qualified but probably OVERqualified applicants. That wont stop me from applying but still... The other one is at a factory, which makes men's suits. They probablyyyyy wont hire me because when Lovey (middle child who is 10 now) was 3 I worked there for a day and a half LOL. I panicked because his sitter (he is special needs remember) forgot to go physically get him off the bus on the first day I worked, and he fell off the bus :( So mid-day of the 2nd day I worked I left at lunch and came home and never looked back. Year before last I worked for about 6 months and we actually went in the hole trying to pay daycare for Hawger. With only hubby working we still get state health ins. for the kids, and Lovey gets SSI disability for his special needs. Some months he gets less than $100 depending on hubby's overtime etc. If I get a job it will have to be really good because we are right on the cusp now of losing state ins. and we'll definitely lose Lovey's SSI so I have to compensate for all that, plus pay a part time sitter for Hawger plus gas, eats, etc all the expenses that go along with working and before you know it I'm working for peanuts but stressed to the max because my kids miss me, my house and laundry misses me etc on and on and yada yada SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO waht a run on sentence. Its exhausting. :(

Started Lovey's quilt finally. I am sewing strips then I'll cut and resew, just into a checkerboard pattern. Gratitudes kicked my butt I needed something very mindless to work on :)

And this will be my next purse I think! Although I like the paisley's better I should have shown it on top not the pinks.

Anyways, wish me luck on this whole job thing, I'm trying to stay positive! xoxo melzie
