I have the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, the Clan of the Cavebear series by Jean Auel, and the Left Behind series and the Narnia series by CS Lewis that I keep and reread. I use to keep my favorites like Nora Roberts and Lavyrle Spencer etc but then I realized that hey the library is keeping them for me LOL I can get them there anytime I want. Mostly I give away or trade at the bookstore.
.Keep dustjacket or toss it? Keep, one time I loaned out a book (left behind series) and it came back sans dustjacket and I am still twitchy when I see it on my bookshelf all naked and stuff. :(

Buy or Borrow? Buy, or borrow from the library. Mostly buy and borrow from the library.
New or used? used if at all possible I am a cheapskate
Buying choice: book reviews, recommendation or browse? all of the above, OR favorite author, if I've read something by them that I like I'll usually repeat buy
Tidy ending or cliffhanger? that depends on if I have book 2 sitting next to me otherwise I HATE cliffhangers LOL
Morning reading, afternoon reading or nighttime reading? all of those, plus tub reading, stoplight reading, waiting room reading etc ;)

Replies to comments w/no email link :)
Kim-yes I have read all the Odd Thomas books :) I LOVE them, I also love the Christopher Snow series by D.Koontz. I am really a sucker for any series LOL. But my list is books read in 07 I want to keep a tally and see how many books I read in a year. Thats the only reason they were not included...but I should note that it IS part of a series for anyone who may not know.
Laura- if you will email me (link on sidebar) I will send the link to you when I get my stuff on ebay which will be in the next week or two, hubby will help me and I havent even STARTED looking thru my fabric yet. Not a quick process probably.
Thanks for reading my blog ladies ;) xoxo melzie

I think I've found the READ OF THE YEAR
Have you ever read the Yada Yada Prayer group series by Neta Jackson?! If you HAVE then WHY didnt you TELL me how good they were?! If you HAVENT well GO GET THEM! I've read #1&2 (library) but they dont have any more of them. OMGOSH they are SO GOOD I was sad when I finished #2 I want them to go on and on and on :) And THAT is a compliment to a TRUE GOOD BOOK. I will definitely buy these and add to my reread collection :) They inspired me to grow as a Christian. I added a books read in 07 list on my sidebar, I am always taking recommendations! I like Christian ficition, romance (not smutty though), mild sci-fi fantasy, etc. I do NOT like hardly anything on Oprah's list LOL so those type of books I dont care for. I dont like anything crude or graphic.
I actually started cleaning today (finally). I also decided to ebay a big chunk of my fabric. I bought A-LOT OF FABRIC in the last year or two but for pennies on the dollar, (sales, clearance, and my mom's discount) and I'll never use all of it never ever. I think there is so much junk in my sewing room I cant work in there kwim? And I want a new tv :) So to ebay we will go!
This week my focus will be cleaning house, next week I will start to make enquiries towards going to college next fall, I want to go for social work degree, with alot of criminal justice sprinkled in, I want to work with victims of abuse, be it child abuse, s*xual abuse, domestic or elderly. Anyone of those especially touches my heart.
Thanks to all who've hung with my blog over the last few weeks :) I promise to be a more faithful blogger :D xoxo melzie

Playing catch up (or ketchup LOL)
First, some pictures :)

circa 1977! Found at my used bookstore, its sooooo cute and retro

And at $2 could not be passed up :) I am such a sucker for 1970's stuff :)

Next up a nifty new purse! My friend at church crocheted this for me!

Lined and all I am so tickled :)

Little mister Rowdyboy our last kitten who seems to have just taken up residence :)

And let me tell ya ROWDYBOY fits him to a TEE :)
Second, an apology! I went awol from my blog, I've been in such a slump. Not just sewing or blogging but an all over all around in general true FUNK. I am feeling better now :) God is good, he never gives up on me even in my slumpy funky times :)
Its flurrying snow today! Its cold cold I have to keep my washer going or it will freeze. I'm almost done with dirty clothes, then I will strip the beds. Then I dunno what LOL guess I'll call my friend and offer to do some of hers. Last really cold snap I just ran water thru occasionally.
Whats good to read these days? I went on about an 8 wk book fast from Nov til Jan 1 in order to read my Bible more, but since Jan 1 I've read and read and READ AND READ. I have some awesome books to recommend :) For true ROMANCE try out Josie Litton's series Dream of Me, Believe in Me and Come Back to Me. In the Christian fiction, really anything by Karen Kingsbury is TO BE READ IMMEDIATELY :) I've just finished the Redemption series (which leads to the Firstborn series) and the 9-11 series all by her. I mean CANNOT PUT DOWN BOOKS. CBS has links up to the new Survivor and Amazing Race seasons starting in Feb. I cannot wait! AR will be All-Stars and my SWEET SWEET ROB ::SWOON:: yay I cant wait.
Well I think thats all for now :) I'd love to hear some good book recommendations and any talk about the AR or Survivor seasons are welcomed here, except Rob bashing ;) Have a great day! xoxo melzie
