KJV is what I usually use, this is the verse that popped up to me today in my reading and I wanted to look it up in different versions...

ashamedly I admit I read none. Why? because I've had a falling out with religion.
I read the NKJV but love the Message too. I understand it is a paraphrease...as is the KJV and every other one under the sun...people fool themselves.
Like Laura I am not into religon, but I am so thrilled that my Bible is not religious!
Hey Melzie, so good to see you here! I read the Amplified version most of the time. My mom bought it for me when I was born again 10 years ago and it just "clicked". I also like to go back to the NKJV
I read the KJV. Referencing your Sunday post I point you to the next couple of verses in the Psalm: "For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it; thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." (v 16-17)
God loves your broken heart and your contrite spirit, Melzie. He doesn't want you to offer up a burnt-out heart. Be you! I admire your courage to bare your soul this way. It does take time, however, to rediscover ourselves after we've spent years tending to the needs of others. Keep on keepin' on girl!
