Welcome to my little corner of blogland! This is the only sane spot I can come in my crazy life! :) Here I share my sometimes funny sometimes NOT-day to day insanity I call my life, along with my sweet wooly hubby & all our boys :)

Misc. Monday Madness :)

Some finished quilts I know made their way to their new baby owners I wanted to share :)

This one went to my cousin's baby Cole, he was born mid-Nov. and is having some heart issues. Please pray for him and for his family :) He will be ok but as most of us know ongoing health issues with our babies? Not fun. This one has batting/flannel. Tried to machine sew down both sides of binding...did NOT go well lol. My mom told me AFTER the fact I did it bass-ackwards, I did back to front, apparently supposed to do front to back? I ususally hand sew it down so is that back to front? I dunno. Its done and there LOL

This one went to my friend Heather's baby Evan, born early Nov. After the binding fiasco I did fleece on the back of this one with the pillowcase method.

See this cutie pie? He is so sweet :) So cute :) I love him to pieces. As you know I've been kinda down lately..

So what does this nut do to make me laugh til I cried last week?

put a knee high over his big head. OMGosh I DIED LAUGHING. Cheered my whole day up :)

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine

Well it sleeted a bit last night, and the sky is all flat grey lol you know that means winter weather! Supposed to move in about 5pm this evening. Coming up from Tx and we are still on the snow/ice cusp so who knows I am PRAYING snow...ice is the pits to deal with. We are suppose to get hit pretty hard. Well its Monday a new week, last week of January. My Jan. went fast didn't it? I"m starting this week early, 28 days of prayer. I am committing to praying/Bible reading for 4 solid weeks of Feb. (makes a habit you know!) Thats certain to improve my mood a bit lol. Got a ton to clean today, esp. since Tues. and Wed. will likely be called off for school due to weather. Gona read some blogs while I finish my coffee and then I am off. Today I read Psalm 136, its pretty neat :) Go read it! Let me know if you do!

In diet news I am holding steady from my 3 lb gain last week, so that puts my total loss at 4 lbs. No gains or losses this past week but at least no gains right Sharon? Sharon? :) ::grins innocently::

ps I dunno why half this is in italic...sigh :)

PSALM 51:10

KJV is what I usually use, this is the verse that popped up to me today in my reading and I wanted to look it up in different versions...

King James Version (KJV)Passage Psalm 51:10:
10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amplified Bible (AMP)Passage Psalm 51:10:
10Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Message (MSG)Passage Psalm 51:10:
God, make a fresh start in me,
shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Message one was so pretty I looked up the entire passage in KJV and The Message...compared below
King James Version (KJV)Passage Psalm 51:7-15:
7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
The Message (MSG)Passage Psalm 51:7-15:
7 -15 Soak me in your laundry and I'll come out clean,
scrub me and I'll have a snow-white life.
Tune me in to foot-tapping songs,
set these once-broken bones to dancing.
Don't look too close for blemishes,
give me a clean bill of health.
God, make a fresh start in me,
shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
Don't throw me out with the trash,
or fail to breathe holiness in me.
Bring me back from gray exile,
put a fresh wind in my sails!
Give me a job teaching rebels your ways
so the lost can find their way home.
Commute my death sentence, God, my salvation God,
and I'll sing anthems to your life-giving ways.
Unbutton my lips, dear God;
I'll let loose with your praise.
I thought that was neat :) What Bible version to you read and why?
Can you figure it out?
What do all the verses below have in common? FYI I use KJV so the wording may be different (in my Bible they have the same word in common also) but the subject should be the same :)
Ps. 107:30
Prov. 17:1
Is. 7:4
Is. 32:18
Ezek. 16:42
Acts 19:36
I Thess. 3:12
I Thess. 4:11
I Tim. 2:2
I'll be back later to see who figured it out and share why I was up bright and early with my 10 lb. Bible concordance to look them up :) xoxo melzie
Morning mercies
Lamentations 3
22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
My peace rose, first thing this morning.
I need some peace.
I got some somewhat ugly comments this a.m. from someone I thought would be more supportive of me as I mentally prepare to "gird up my loins" and be strong for Lovey in this. I was not expecting that.
You know that saying "God wont give you more than you can handle"? Its not true. He WILL give you more than you can handle, just to see if you will lean on Him.
Proverbs 3:5"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding."
I’m learning to lean, learning to lean,
Learning to lean on Jesus.
Finding more power than I’d ever dreamed,
I’m learning to lean on Jesus.
Do what you KNOW to DO!
PROBABLY long post ahead, and religious warning so skip if you are so inclined ;)
7-10-07
ANSWER IN PRAYER-
I asked God for help because EVERYTHING is in a mess & overwhelming & I feel that I never get any answers. Well today I heard Him speak as plain as day :) He said "do what you know to do." I've thought all year long my lesson to learn during this "season" of my life is to WAIT. So I made a list of the things I *know to do.
  • I KNOW to give God the first of my day. To sacrificially (ouch) get up earlier and start my day with him. I give him 10% of my money, but about 1% of my time and thats usually in the middle of the day when 10 things have already gone wrong...
  • I know to read my Bible and pray everyday. Soldiers who go to war with out their gun and helmets then lie on the ground after being shot down whining about it would be stupid right? Just as dumb for me to go about my day without preparation first.
  • I know to keep my house clean. Now this is a personal issue. My house reflects my state of mind and my state of mind reflects my house. And the same if not more-so for my hubby. When my house is cleaner I feel better prepared.
  • I know to go to bed earlier. Again its a preparation thing. My days go so much better when I am ACTING instead of REACTING.
BIBLE READING-
We are starting a new book in our Sun. School class and there is daily Bible reading. So yesterdays, after my prayer and list making time, was Matt 3:13-Matt 5:20.
  • Jesus came to John the Baptist to do what? BE BAPTIZED. Because this is what John *knew to do. This allowed Jesus to do His part and John to do his. When I start to feel paralized by stress and dont do my part, what other lives are affected? John tried to refuse, what if he had? Following this the disciples were called...
  • Jesus came to them and called them to be *fishers of men. Fishing...what they *knew to do! Out of their comfort zone for sure but still doable.
  • Beatitudes-(I am going to do a study on each one I'll share that when I do but here there are in list form:)
  • POOR IN SPIRIT
  • MOURNING
  • MEEK
  • HUNGERING AND THIRSTING AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS
  • MERCIFUL
  • PURE IN HEART
  • PEACEMAKERS
  • PERSECUTED, REVILED, FALSELY SPOKEN OF FOR HIS SAKE
  • Next, have you lost your flavor? Then you are good for nothing! Cast out! Trod underfoot! (felt walked all over lately?).
SOLUTIONS?-
  1. Follow Jesus (vs 4:19)
  2. Do what you know to do (vs. 3:13-17)
  3. Quote scripture against the devil (vs. 4:4,7,10)
  4. Do the opposite of the world and the opposite of what you feel like doing. (vs. 5:2-12)
  5. If you dont obey, dont be surprised to feel good for nothing, outcast and walked on.
LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE FOR HIM AGAIN! :0)
gratitudes:
God's mercies that are new every morning!
My sweet friend Dianna :) Love you chicadee.
