Welcome to my little corner of blogland! This is the only sane spot I can come in my crazy life! :) Here I share my sometimes funny sometimes NOT-day to day insanity I call my life, along with my sweet wooly hubby & all our boys :)

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; there is where they should be.
Now put foundations under them.

Playing catch up (or ketchup LOL)

First, some pictures :)

circa 1977! Found at my used bookstore, its sooooo cute and retro

And at $2 could not be passed up :) I am such a sucker for 1970's stuff :)

Next up a nifty new purse! My friend at church crocheted this for me!

Lined and all I am so tickled :)

Little mister Rowdyboy our last kitten who seems to have just taken up residence :)

And let me tell ya ROWDYBOY fits him to a TEE :)

Second, an apology! I went awol from my blog, I've been in such a slump. Not just sewing or blogging but an all over all around in general true FUNK. I am feeling better now :) God is good, he never gives up on me even in my slumpy funky times :)

Its flurrying snow today! Its cold cold I have to keep my washer going or it will freeze. I'm almost done with dirty clothes, then I will strip the beds. Then I dunno what LOL guess I'll call my friend and offer to do some of hers. Last really cold snap I just ran water thru occasionally.

Whats good to read these days? I went on about an 8 wk book fast from Nov til Jan 1 in order to read my Bible more, but since Jan 1 I've read and read and READ AND READ. I have some awesome books to recommend :) For true ROMANCE try out Josie Litton's series Dream of Me, Believe in Me and Come Back to Me. In the Christian fiction, really anything by Karen Kingsbury is TO BE READ IMMEDIATELY :) I've just finished the Redemption series (which leads to the Firstborn series) and the 9-11 series all by her. I mean CANNOT PUT DOWN BOOKS. CBS has links up to the new Survivor and Amazing Race seasons starting in Feb. I cannot wait! AR will be All-Stars and my SWEET SWEET ROB ::SWOON:: yay I cant wait.

Well I think thats all for now :) I'd love to hear some good book recommendations and any talk about the AR or Survivor seasons are welcomed here, except Rob bashing ;) Have a great day! xoxo melzie

Sorry but Rob and Ambuh are so over exposed.... I used to watch AR faithfully - the family version put me off & I did not return... I tried, but the spark was extinguished.

BUT I love Charla & Myrna & Uchenna & Joyce, so maybe I'll be back.... & I remember some of the others....

I have that very same book!! I found it thrifting many many moons ago. Isn't it atrociously ridiculous some of the ideas in there? But I still love them. I'm a hippie at heart. Thankfully I was though. :D
Thank you for the wonderful comments today. Your thoughts and prayers mean the world to me!!

I have that book! =) Good find. The purse is really cool - what a great friend.

I'm glad you are feeling much better.

From Heartsong, I like Wanda Brunstetter and Cathy Marie Hake - good storytellers, Christian romance.

Welcome back, and so sorry you were in a funk. Hope things get better and stay that way!
I had a bunch of quilting books - from the 80s, and lent them to a friend. Don't remember which one ...

Welcome out of your funk. The Big Guy has your back all of the time, how cool is that?!
Have a great weekend!

Nice to see you back blogging. We don't watch AR or Survivor, so I don't know those shows -- waiting for LOST to start back!

Karen Kingsbury is fantastic. I just read book 4 "Family". Can't wait for the last one in that series.

I have--or had that book. My mother actually had it. Can't remember if I kept it or sold it on eBay in one of my cleaning out phases (which don't occur often enough). I've been in a slump/funk as well lately and sort of feeling overwhelmed by all of my UFO's, need-to-do's, want-to-do's and haven't-accomplished's. I think it's the doldrums of winter. Hope you're feeling better.
