Welcome to my little corner of blogland! This is the only sane spot I can come in my crazy life! :) Here I share my sometimes funny sometimes NOT-day to day insanity I call my life, along with my sweet wooly hubby & all our boys :)

Yay a finish, entirely from scraps!

Made this for a baby shower at church tomorrow entirely from the scraps from Hawgers quilt(top). You can click to make bigger.

Ok I did the pillowcase method, used fleece for the backing (no batting). I love doing them this way. Here is detail of how I stitched it closed. Could look better but I'm satisfied. I AM a beginner ;) I almost had to break my fabric depression, but then found this PERFECT colored fleece a little deeper in my sewing room closet. Yay for stash ;)

I also have to say, I like this pattern better than the fence rail with the blocks on Hawgers LOL. This quilt is for a lil baby conceived by IVF, will be their only one. I am very pleased with it :) Next on my list, is binding again ugh :) I'll make it bigger this time!

I had to go to Hancock's to get some embroidery thread to tie this quilt, and I even browsed the fabric and didnt buy :D I'm so proud LOL. I am needing Hawger's batting, it goes on sale for 30% off next Thursday, then I get my mom's 20% employee discount so good that I waited!

Gratitudes:
Dark chocolate home made cupcakes with fudge chocolate icing. MMM MMMMM
A nice make up conversation between hubby and I
Aussie dual personality antifrizz and leave in conditioner :D
Church tomorrow! I need it :)

Have a great rest of the weekend! xoxo melzie Posted by Picasa

That's great, and a bonus quilt! The stash is a wonderful place. =)

I could go for those cupcakes myself! Of course, I don't *need* them, but they would surely be good!

Hi Melody! Sorry I haven't visited your blog til now, but I'm trying to catch up! I love the fleece on the back of the baby quilt. I'm thinkng my gbaby will have to have one of those! Thursday is "the" day. We are supposed to find out that day what she is having!

This is a great quilt - nice and colorful. I've never birthed and tied a quilt, but I think I am going to get practice on it soon. One of my friends got a quilt top from an auction, and she doesn't know how to quilt and doesn't really want to learn.
