Welcome to my little corner of blogland! This is the only sane spot I can come in my crazy life! :) Here I share my sometimes funny sometimes NOT-day to day insanity I call my life, along with my sweet wooly hubby & all our boys :)

Misc. Monday Madness :)

Some finished quilts I know made their way to their new baby owners I wanted to share :)

This one went to my cousin's baby Cole, he was born mid-Nov. and is having some heart issues. Please pray for him and for his family :) He will be ok but as most of us know ongoing health issues with our babies? Not fun. This one has batting/flannel. Tried to machine sew down both sides of binding...did NOT go well lol. My mom told me AFTER the fact I did it bass-ackwards, I did back to front, apparently supposed to do front to back? I ususally hand sew it down so is that back to front? I dunno. Its done and there LOL

This one went to my friend Heather's baby Evan, born early Nov. After the binding fiasco I did fleece on the back of this one with the pillowcase method.

See this cutie pie? He is so sweet :) So cute :) I love him to pieces. As you know I've been kinda down lately..

So what does this nut do to make me laugh til I cried last week?

put a knee high over his big head. OMGosh I DIED LAUGHING. Cheered my whole day up :)

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine

Well it sleeted a bit last night, and the sky is all flat grey lol you know that means winter weather! Supposed to move in about 5pm this evening. Coming up from Tx and we are still on the snow/ice cusp so who knows I am PRAYING snow...ice is the pits to deal with. We are suppose to get hit pretty hard. Well its Monday a new week, last week of January. My Jan. went fast didn't it? I"m starting this week early, 28 days of prayer. I am committing to praying/Bible reading for 4 solid weeks of Feb. (makes a habit you know!) Thats certain to improve my mood a bit lol. Got a ton to clean today, esp. since Tues. and Wed. will likely be called off for school due to weather. Gona read some blogs while I finish my coffee and then I am off. Today I read Psalm 136, its pretty neat :) Go read it! Let me know if you do!

In diet news I am holding steady from my 3 lb gain last week, so that puts my total loss at 4 lbs. No gains or losses this past week but at least no gains right Sharon? Sharon? :) ::grins innocently::

Whats up Bloggyburg?

SO whats up these days peoples? I'll tell you whats up here:
The price of gas
The river levels (still)
The temps (finally)

Just checking in, nothing really to post about except a prayer request at the bottom of the post from a lady in my church...can't have too many people praying for our soldier boys now can we? Prayer request to follow:

My son, Ryan, has asked us to pray for him and the men in Iraq. There is a new bomb out that goes through metal and glass. Their hummers are supposed to be indestructable, but this new bomb goes right through them. Ryan was asked by his commander to be the gunner on the hummer the other day, and he was going to do it, It was an honor to him to be asked, but his wife asked him not to because of a feeling she had. That hummer was hit yesterday in KaCook. The gunner, a good friend of his, was killed instantly. His commander and another friend, Ried, both lost a eye and have brain swelling. The new bomb ripped the door off and went right through the windshield. This could have been my son...it was some other mothers son. Please pray for those families and for Gods protection over my son, and the other soilders in Iraq. I thank you, and Ryan thanks you!!

So anyway, thats something you can do for me today, and pass it along if you feel led. xoxo melzie

PRAYERS AND PRAISES :)

Yall I just have to share. We went from less than 3 wks ago to being so far behind that we were 3 DAYS from reposession of our van, and 3 mos behind on our house payment and facing imminent foreclosure and hubby being unemployed after 15 yrs...TO ABSOLUTELY BEING CAUGHT UP, yes caught up people. I am not behind on anything, and the only things past due are my phone by a few days and my electric by about a week, not concerning. I got a letter saying our adjustable rate mortgage was going up, from just $77 a month more PRAISE GOD, and saying our deferrment we applied for was APPROVED PRAISE GOD MORE. I had just mailed off a payment for the old amount and that will now apply towards Dec.! So I just have to send in the $77 difference! Our van, we refinanced hubby's truck to catch it up. The payments didnt go up much, but over longer period. We are going to work VERY VERY HARD to get our payments in on time for 6 mos. and then refinance at a lower rate. Its like now that hubby is where God wants him the blessings are just flowing :) And I have NO PROBLEM sharing the praises :) Its so exciting to see. Hubby really really likes his new job.

My 13almost14 yr old Wildchild has had HBP the last month and has an appt Dec. 11 w/a cardiologist. They did agree to let him go back on his adhd meds IF the school nurse will monitor his BP and fax daily results to the pediatrician. Good thing..today was his 2nd day of in school suspension this week. And its only Tuesday. So please pray for that..

My other prayer request is for a little girl named Kirsten age 3. She has had several tests run on cysts under her arms, and the run of the mill tests all came out ok, she has to know undergo tests for cancer :( I work with her grandma at Wendy's please keep this little girl and her tests (Fri) in your prayers, and pass it along if you can. Thanks :)

comfort quilt

Lovey's surgical consultation is Wednesday. Today he receieved a very special gift.
Close up of one of the many scriptures
Label-
We have some very close friends who attend this church, and knowing of my son's need for surgery they gave him this :*)
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Nothing touches me like a gift of service for one of my children.
My yardsale did ok, I made right at $100 and now have $160 put up for Lovey's surgery. Yes he has ins. but I have to have gas to go up there 2hrs. one way, food for each day he's there etc. Plus hubby will take off from work on the day of the actual surgery so more $$ lost.
Please pray for Lovey, first off that the surgery will be not needed (miraculously), but if not, that we will handle things well and trust in God. I will know Wed. night if he is having surgery Fri. a.m. or if it can be postponed a few wks. xoxo melzie
