WOW. Long time no blog

Has it SERIOUSLY been since July since I blogged? :( Facebook really blew blogging away for me didn't it? Well on the off chance there is still someone out there wishing melzie would come back (LOL) I wanted to post a blog post!

Above is Hawger and Lovey, they need new nicknames probably lol Hawger is in 4th grade now and is in Honor Choir this year. On the Honor roll, loves to read, play video games and watch DIY and SYFY with his mom. Lovey is 15, involved as the manager in every imaginable sport. He loves sports, girls, girls and sports lol.

Little Man turned 2 right before Christmas. He is a handful and a half but he is super smart and loves his brothers infinitely. Santa brought a trampoline and he never gets tired of jumping on it. He loves numbers and colors :) (and biscuits and gravy!)

My Wildchild is 18 now, finishing up his senior year in May, then off to boot camp so it seems. (sob!) I'm super proud though :D

tomorrow our girls go home. Summer Girl and Little Sister. I have pics from Hawger and Summer Girl since they were like 3 and 5. We have had a great time with them this year, and Summer Girl gave her heart to Jesus at Bible school and got Baptized. That is worth it all

Baptisms & Tummy Aches

That’s what’s happening around here today. My Boy and my Summer Girl both got Baptized this morning, I cried I was so happy! Pics below. Also there is a horrible tummy bug making it’s way around church, we apparently have it here. Hubby and I are both very sick to our tummy and Little Man is very fussy with a fever so I assume tummy too. I am hoping it resolves quickly.

Will I Ever Blog Again? (regularly?)

Made up some new rice bags today. Blogging isn’t the only thing I don’t do anymore, I haven’t sewn since like January. But my favorite rice bag got a hole so I decided to use up the rest of the rice and made 3 bags.

Hawgerman needs a new nickname. Here is his before and after pics. He didn’t cut his hair for 2 yrs. He is a very handsome young man now and I am so proud of him.

You can see here that Little Man is growing up fast. He is 18 mos old now. New words almost every day, and he loves to fold his hands and pray. And glare at anyone not folding their’s and praying too lol. We also have our Summer Girl, who brought her 6 yr old sister for the first time too.

Lovey Dovey is a boy scout now. He grows up more every day and has thus far been healthy for 2 years. He starts 9th grade this fall.

And Wildchild will be a senior. He is a typical teen know it all lol. Hoping to enjoy this last year with him, he talks of going in the Marines after graduation.

We are all doing well, I don’t know if anyone even reads this anymore or not but if you do leave me a comment so I know so! xoxo melzie

Happy 2011

Even later than that, Merry Christmas 2010! I am obviously behind. So much that my last post was Halloween. I just don't find as much time to blog nowadays, not only does Little Man take up so much of my time (he's crying on my leg right now) but Facebook is so much more convenient, esp. for the tiny chunks of time I have.

Annual New Yrs Eve party, this year was Hubby & I & 9 kids. :) We had a blast!

We played Bop-It, Spoons, Left Right Center, Pictionary Man, Charades

Had snacks, and fireworks at midnight :) Good clean fun.

I hope my word for this year is PEACE or CONFIDENCE but so far its been CHAOS in 2011. We've been so so sick. We all have had a combo head/chest cold with not a stomach bug but a stomach MONSTER. Its been unreal. I am so thankful to feel better. Esp. thankful Little Man is better he was sickest with both viruses.

Well he's been patient all he's going to he now has hijacked the mouse. Sorry to be so few and far between in posts!

Wonky House!

I cannot believe I did it BUT GUESS WHAT??? I DID! I made a wonky house! That is one of my top goals! It wasn't that hard, I think the difficult part for me would be making same size blocks. Not really totally necessary I don't guess LOL. I am so proud of me, I wanted to try for a long time but didn't want to mess anything up (story of my life!).

LOOK! My kids and Hubby can get creative too ;)

Happy Fall Yall

Hello faithful few or two blog readers. I just thought I'd share a few pics and a few thoughts today. Because lets face it a few is all I can remember at any given time!

I took this Little Man out for a fall'ish photo shoot the other day. Instead I almost shot myself! No not really LOL but it was like trying to herd butterflies. IMPOSSIBLE. He wanted to chase the cat, chase the leaves, go go go!

He's taking off here, so I tried to use a lawn chair...this was the result:

I LOVE this picture. He was leaned way up in the lawn chair, rested his face on his feet and looked down. I stuck the camera under there and just snapped. I LOVE it. It's Quirky, it's artsy'ish LOL

OK we've now moved over to the porch, where Little Man decides he'd rather play...

Some days you have to laugh (just to keep from crying LOL)

SOOO this little duck-lip stinker, at 10.5 mos old, TOOK HIS VERY FIRST STEPS TONIGHT :) I was excited. And shocked. And somewhat sad. :)

If it seems this post is full of Little Man well that's because my days and nights and weekends and holidays are pretty much taken up with him. So that's what ya get :) OH and I got out an OLD UFO...

This is from WAY back to Judy at Sunshine Quilts, her first quilt-along project. I couldn't keep up, I couldn't line up, so I gave up. But I ended up with 12 ADORABLE blocks, so I am framing them, tonight I squared them up and I'm going to sew them together for a table mat or something :) They do look nice, that turquoise just POPS with those fall colors.

Well there ya go, nothing new going on here. I will say this if you want to keep up with me, and you have a blog I'm familiar with EMAIL ME and I'll add you to my facebook. Because lets face it the instant gratification beats blogging out when I only have 5 min. spurts to get on the internet sprinkled throughout my days!

Growing Pains

Ever had growing pains? Boy I had some this weekend. We are in total transition in our church. Again. We've went to this church for 2 years. Had two preacher and are beginning the "shopping" process over again. I don't like it. It makes church seem like a chore, a to-do item to check off. I start to miss the bread and the living water and the peace and the refilling of my spiritual tank. I suggested and Hubby agreed to go to *my church* this Sun. a.m. (background, we have gone to *my church* for most of our married life, until Hubby felt God calling him back to *his church* 2 yrs ago, being a good dutiful wife (ha) I kicked and screamed my way down there with him, but I miss my church family TREMENDOUSLY especially times like now). We went, took our family (4 boys) and took our youth kids (9 kids) and crashed their Sun. school and morning service :) It was amazing. The Sun. school lesson was EXACTLY what I had been reading all week (Hebrews), the sermon given during worship was spot on! The singing, the organization, the teachers, I was like a little flower basking in the morning sunlight. I was secretly praying the whole time, please let Hubby feel this too, please let him announce "we have to go back!" He enjoyed it, the Sun. school lesson was spot on for him he said. But he enjoyed it for what it was, a visit.

WELL, let me tell you what my Sun. school lesson was about. Doing what is right even when you don't want to. Doing the unselfish thing, to be in God's will. GRRR God! I want MY WAY, I want MY church! I want my friends! (sheesh Melody we went through this 2 yrs ago why are we rehashing it? Because God, I don't want to do this shopping for a pastor again! And God, no one helps us, I am tired of being the only one to do the kids, nursery, youth. I'm tired, I need fed, I need friends, I need fellowship!)

So I cried so much to Hubby that he said you know what you go wherever you feel you should be, because I can't make you go with me, you'll just resent me. Then he had to go help his parents install a new a/c and I washed the dishes and *listened* to God instead of talking, crying, having a fit. And He told me exactly what I knew He would. That my place was with my husband. That this is where He has me for now. That it's not forever, but it is for good, for benefit, for profit, for my best interest. But God I want MY WAY. But no I do want your way God, I want your blessing, and if I got my way I still wouldn't be happy, I'd be out of your will and that is no place I really want to be. So God and I came to agreement. So Danny came home and said look, I think God wants you to do His work, not your will. I said yeah yeah God already told me LOL Doesn't mean I have to like it.

Then our guest preacher last night, preached on doing God's will not what your flesh wants (LOL three times in one day God? Do you think I'm hardheaded or something?? Don't answer that God) and I let it go. And now I have peace. Growing pains, but peace. And I'd rather have peace from God than anyone, or anything. I wanted to share this today to maybe speak the Word to someone else who might need this today. :) xoxo melzie

SUMMER FLEW BY! And today the bus came and swallowed up my Hawger, Lovey rode his bike and Wildchild drove.

My husband always says fall is the season that is the *end, that summer dies, leaves die, flowers die. But I ALWAYS think of fall as the *beginning, new school year! Just different outlooks LOL. Its not quite fall weather yet but it has cooled off a LOT. This has been the hottest summer of record here since 1952. We've broken records several times. Now when we see 90 degrees, that's a cool spell ;) In celebration of *almost fall* I have sourdough bread rising, and veggie stew simmering in the crock pot. I'll bake some cupcakes for my little men's after school snack as well.

Its so sad to see the summer end, that's true. And once the school year starts its a snowball rolling down hill, faster and faster. But I won't deny being ready to settle into a routine with Little Man, spend more one on one time with him. He's crawling now, just got his first top tooth, third tooth all together. He's going to miss his bubbies, he's the most social baby I've ever known, he hates being by himself. (He's going to do well in daycare when I go to school in Jan.) I'll share a few pics of him today too..just because ;)

August Arrives

And it arrives here in a hot, hot way. Supposed to be 100 today, 102 tomorrow. We've had a somewhat unusually hot summer. And boy does my electric bill show it. I want to share some pics of the goings on this summer :) Our summer visitor Baby Girl came to visit. She used to be our neighbor, then they moved off 2 hrs away to the big city. She comes down a couple weeks and remembers how to be a country girl ;) When I look at this picture, I am SHOCKED at how big they are. I have pics from when Hawger is 2 and Baby Girl is 4. Eight and ten is a big leap, but she is an AMAZING young lady, poised, polite, and so so smart.

And check out how creative! She LOVES to sew, so I gave her like 3 yards of material and let her go at it.

way cool :) She also sewed a patchwork pillow.

Lots of swimming so far this hot summer, including Little Man's first swimming trip :) He was kinda "Eh" about it he's not so much of a water baby LOL

When it came time to get out the playpen, here is what it looks like. Its second hand, and its CLEAN, just stained.

I did an online search for a cover, I believe the one I made came from Prudentbaby.com or some such. I've never done elastic in a casing, so I had help ;)

And check out the adorable finished results! I made two, they are adorable! (and for the second, I threaded my own elastic, that was super easy!)

My sister had her baby boy "N" over a week ago yesterday. Then on Friday he broke out in CHICKEN POX. I'm still waiting to see if Little Man gets them. I guess better to break out now than later when they ITCH incessantly, her baby isn't too fussy at all and he is covered. Here are the two cousins, 10 months and 8 months :)

My Little Man turned 8 months yesterday. Time is flying by and I cannot believe how cute he is, or how fun. I also cannot believe how much his brothers just make all over him. They fight over him sometimes, and they "call" him. Like "I call feeding J his morning bottle!" Its going to be very hard when they go back to school, and I have to do it all by myself LOL!

So that's several pics of our summer. We went to the new local waterpark yesterday, First real outing WITHOUT Little Man. The boys fretted over how he was doing more than I did LOL. We've basically stayed in the house and kept cool this summer, but now its time to wind down, to wake up, to shop for supplies and get ready for a brand new year :) xoxo melzie

Choices

Well now lets talk about ~choices~.

I drifted along for a very long time in my life thinking I was not making choices. Decisions scared me. (still do!) Its too easy to make a wrong one and have regret. At a point about 8 years ago I realized my life was being ruled by guilt. Past guilt, present guilt, future guilt. I realized it, but was still paralyzed by it. I made the first real choice of my life it seems like, to refuse to feel guilt. Hand in hand with that came the realization that I was allowed to say NO. People whom I'd known my whole life were taken aback by the word coming from me..NO. My husband struggled with my explanations, he hasn't had the guilt-free epiphany yet. He can't wrap his mind around it. He feels like guilt is something God puts on him when he's doing something wrong, or outside of God's will. I told him, Guilt comes from the devil. Guilt is feeling shame for doing something WRONG in the past. Conviction comes from God. Conviction is the desire to do something RIGHT in the future.

Imagine my surprise recently with a new epiphany. I wasn't really avoiding making choices. I was choosing to let life happen to me. I spent 19 years of my life waiting. Waiting for something. Waiting for happiness, peace, normalcy, just for CHANGE. Then I made one decision, after graduating high school, I decided to wait. (do you see a pattern here??) I wanted to wait one year before going to college. I had no real ambition, I just wanted a different life. But it putting off the progression required to make my life different, in WAITING with the same, well then life happened to me. I got pregnant, and had my first son. From then on I never made another conscious decision. I let life happen to me and REacted to everything that came along. Another baby when I was 21, marriage to my son's father at age 24, another baby at 29.

Then I started realizing..I'm still waiting. Now, another baby later, I'm gathering the reins and preparing to wait no longer. I can't wait for this one to go to school, I can't wait until the time is right. I can't react to what comes at me next. While my life seems to be one drama filled situation after another, I have to step to the fork in the road, I have to find a way to converge this path, of mom and wife, with the path also leading to Melody. To me. ME! I'm lost and I don't know if I'd know myself if I met me :) I'm going to school. I'm going to COLLEGE. I'm probably not going to find the life I'd have found at 18, but there is something. Something more. Not something better, just more. Just different.

I know it will be hard, it will be tempting to give up. I know being a stay at home mom is safe, its comfortable. I'm not as young as I was. But I'm a thousand times more determined. I've went up against death itself for my kids, I am no less worthy. I can conquer this mountain called Choice.

I won't waste my time with recaps. You watched it or you wouldn't be bothering to READ this. I couldn't write my thoughts last night, because for one thing it was too sad, seeing THE END. For another, my thoughts were so jumbled and confused LOL.

First off I LOVED that it was Hurley. I always thought it would be. Jack was too willing. It required sacrifice, giving. And Ben being his "Second"...so touching. And necessary. Hurley is too nice, it seems to always require someone also capable of whatever it takes.

OK so they are all dead. They're all dead NOW. They didn't necessarily die in the beginning. (did they? LOL) Since Ben didn't go to the church with them, is he still alive then? I'm assuming his loose ends have to do with Danielle and Alex. So I guess the fact that Jack stumbles over to where he began and fell down there and died with Vincent (one of my favorite characters lol)

then that would sort of lead us to believe it never happened. But remember how Desmond said "The light will take you somewhere (or did he say sometime) better." So all that meant was he traveled back in time to that moment? And he saw the plane pass safely over, so that meant he saw the Flash Sideways/Alt. Timeline right? HOW did this happen? HURLEY! Hurley and Ben. The Guardian got to make up their own rules. Hurley was writing the next Star Wars (with improvements lol) so he clearly had imagination and cleverness. Ben was also super smart, and remember when he told Hurley regarding Desmond leaving the island that he could do it his way now. There has been a lot of talk about how almost too perfect their lives were in the Alt. Timeline, well that's because Hurley set up their Happily Ever Afters :)

SO honestly the more I'm trying to gather my thoughts the more scattered they become. Is the island purgatory, last chance for redemption? Was the fact that they showed the empty plane wreckage at the end, meant that there were no survivors from the beginning? If everyone that came to the church were dead, why were they all the age they were on the island. If some died before Jack, and some after, why were they all the same age as the crash/rescue? What about the few that got off the island in the end in the plane, I wanted to see crazy Claire rehabilitated, I wanted to see Richard in modern times. (Richard wasn't at the church) How could Jack go into the light cave and not turn into the Black Smoke or something? What caused MIB to and not Jack. And some people just died down there (bones). Why was Desmond such an anomoly.
And Miles. And Walt. Why did they leave Walt and Michael just hanging? Why wasn't Ana Lucia ready?

Well I got on here to wow with my awesome theories but I think a lot of it is just too unanswered :) And that's ok. The best stories always leave some things unanswered, so that it can be personal, the answers can be YOURS. I'm sad its over, but glad I discovered it in time to experience The End in real time. My whole family loved this show, and we never agree on anything. I didn't cry a whole lot, but these two reunions touched me the most.
I wasn't surprised that Juliet was David's mother. And I LOVED the moment when Juliet and James remembered each other :) Who knows why but these two together was so sweet, so right. That scene was awesome, where they said the same things as on island..aww :)

And Charlie and Claire. First off Kate and Claire, I LOVED that it was Aaron and Claire that made Kate remember. Perfect! But Charlie and Claire remembering OH that killed me, because I loved them on island, loved them now. The way ALL these reunions and memories came together..well you'd have to be dead yourself not to be touched by them :)

I can't believe its over. I wonder if I would enjoy watching it again. I wonder if another show will EVER pull me in like this. Books, yes, movies, occasionally but never a show. I'm so grateful to the people that did this show, you gave us many family moments, many lively discussions.

LOST...but trying to find my thoughts LOL

OK so this is the episode we've all been waiting for. And typical of Lost...all we REALLY have now are MORE QUESTIONS! LOL!

I won't bore you with a total recap, I assume if you are reading this you already watched it :) Instead I'll bore you with my thoughts!

First of all MIB is special. Walt was special, young John Locke was special, apparently Aaron will be special. Seems as though every baby born on the island is special too. I really hope the whole Walt thing will be explained before the end, as that was left totally hanging.

My opinion is, not only was Fake Mother the Guardian, I think she either was also Smokie, or had access to Smokie. I noticed she thanked MIB for killing her just as Jacob thanked Ben for killing him. I mean if this episode starts in 23 AD, then Jacob died in 2010 he was the Guardian for almost 2000 years. That's a LONG LONG TIME. Yes FM was a little nutty you would be too if she was Guardian even half that time!

I think Jacob could leave the island because he wasn't chained down as Smokie, MIB was.

Do you think when John Locke stated that "I looked into the eye?/heart? of this island and it was beautiful" that he was talking of the water/light/cave?

I think the wine is what gives them their long lives. Does that mean since MIB broke the bottle that the new replacement won't have that? Or does the fruit grow there somewhere?

I think FM intended for MIB to replace her all along. I think TWINS gave her her loophole, she was able to tie them both down to guarding it. I think the Guardian is not the BEST person but the one who is most able to balance good and evil. Because what she said about Jacob isn't capable of lying, he doesn't see that in people etc. and the fact that when MIB told him that the Others WERE bad, Jacob couldn't see that in them. That made him incapable of being a true Guardian, he was TOO good to do whatever it took to protect the island. But MIB wanted nothing more than to leave so she managed to pass it on to both of them. I think Jack is probably too GOOD, Hurley is probably too GOOD and Sawyer might be the best bet. I think Sayid would have had too much BAD in him, I don't know why Kate was crossed off though.

I don't think MIB wants all the Losties together to be able to get off the island I think he wanted them all in one place to kill them, I think that they are truly the last possible candidates FOREVER and if he can kill them all then something happens. Maybe everyone EVER affected by the island will then be in the alternative timeline, and thats the only way he'll be free. I think Ilana was some descendant of Claudia's. She said Jacob was the closest thing to a father she'd ever had, and she was Latina, said she'd trained her whole life for this etc etc.

I still can't fathom how Desmond fits into this. I do know that he always calls people "Brother" and that's all MIB was ever called as well...coincidence? Who knows :)

I have a picture in my mind of this ending: All the Losties die, so time resets to the alternate timeline. The last scene, takes place on a plane. Mixed in amongst the passengers are the adult versions of Ji Yeon, Aaron, Clementine, Walt, Charlie (Desmond's son) & David (Jack's son). The plane starts to experience turbulance, masks come down, plane is shaking all over...and LOST logo spins into place :)

LOST- RICHARD'S STORY

OK I've kept thinking about this with the open mindset of maybe MIB isnt evil. What if MIB is the "gatekeeper". Jacob representing *temptation* or *corruption*. I believe they are tied together and both tied to the island. Smokie seems to "judge" people. People who come into the temple/smoke/pool but who live seem to be "infected" or corrupted. Maybe Smokie kills the ones who have more evil on their soul so they won't be "infected". (maybe thats the reason the water was dark for Sayid, too much evil on his soul, too much temptation for him to be corrupted/infected..which he was.) Jacob admitted drawing people there, and admitted he's not supposed to directly interfere or speak to them. Then later breaks the rules more by visiting them. I think they'd both been there so long they both wanted released or set free. I think if we follow this idea that the candidate would actually be for MIB's job. Or maybe its a two person job and Jacob got tired of it and started drawing people to the island, and MIB needed to get one of them to kill Jacob so he could finally get his own replacement. Smokie could obviously be in the temple, because when Ben went there to be "judged" he was there, but apparently he couldn't kill the people until Jacob was dead (and so far smokie could only kill certain people, seemingly not 'good' people)

Jacob in the Bible was the 2nd brother of his twin Esau. Their mother prefered Jacob over Esau. Esau was a hairy man it says, and he being firstborn would have received his father's blessing and birthright. (in other words all the power all the land, crops, everything). When their father was old and blind he was ready to pass on the birthright and told Esau to go out and kill a goat and make him a soup and he'd give him his birthright. (ceremony involving a touch from the father and some words). Their mother, Rebekkah was listening, she told Jacob to put some goat skins on his arms (remember..Esau was hairy) and to make the soup and go to the father Issac and receive (ie: steal) Esau's blessing. So he did, and Isaac gave Jacob Esau's blessing. Once the blessing/birthright was given there was no taking it back. The brothers warred for many many years as a result. (remember how Fake Locke/MIB told Kate his mother was crazy?) Just on a side note, Jacob was the father of Joseph, the preferred son (coat of many colors) whose jealous brothers sold him into slavery to the Egyptians, but then he became a leader of the Egyptians, Jacob eventually found him and traveled to Egypt where he died of old age.

SO maybe Jacob and MIB have just been there so long (the island obviously has its roots in Egyptian culture, and the porthole off the island comes out in the deserts of Africa somewhere, probably close to or in Egypt) they want off, they want to be done, they want to quit.

I wonder what/who Widmore has behind the locked doors on the sub. Aaron and Ji Yeon? Desmond (to whom the time travel rules apparently do not apply according to Farraday)? Eloise Hawking? Michael/Walt? And so much is made of the parentage of so many Losties, we know all their parents. But not Desmond's..who is he really?

I enjoyed Richard's story for the most part :)

Yes my Hawgerman turned 8 this month :)
He's SO big. 8 seems like a much bigger age than 7 to me.
He wants to let his hair grow. He wants more privacy now.

He's had a very hard time adjusting to not being the baby anymore.
Even though my love multiplies..my time has subtracted and he knows it.
We've had several bumpy days.

But I keep telling him..he's still my baby.
Forever and ever. Amen

He's not completely grown up yet. His favorite CD is still his Spongebob CD :)

whazzup? I'm so bluhhhhhhhh today..no energy or oomph. Little Man slept til 6:45 so it should have been an excellently productive day but NOPE. I did get all my bills wrote out and ready to run and pay after the kiddies get home.

We got a new (to us) minivan! Our senior pastor took care of all the running for us (the dealer is like 30+ miles away) he delivered the van and paperwork today we have to sign the papers and bring them and the check to him at church tonight :D I need to go see if the cd player works...its wonderfully spacious LOL we've been crammed into a car for MONTHS where we don't all..actually..fit. Its a 2000 Olds Silhouette.

We also got a new church bus (the old one kept breaking down full of kids!) it holds 25 kids! Danny is the bus driver LOL Thank God for Little Man or I might be forced to ride with him. God is blessing our youth group and our little church SO GREATLY lately it is awesome to see :)

hmm what else. OHHH Little Man got this awesome new toy, a lay down under the hangie down toy floor thingiemabobber. Well he likes it, today I had him down there and its got a mirror he can see himself...He'd STARE....AT THAT...OTHER...BABY then KICKKICKKICKKICKKICK all excited. Then he'd STARE..SOME..MORE..AT..THAT then KICKKICKKICK lololol he eventually smiled at the *other* baby and then kicked up a storm some more. It was adorable :D

Hawgerman's 8th birthday is Friday. First he wanted to take a couple of friends skating, but then he saw the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie preview and that's his FAVORITE series so he changed to that. It doesn't come out til mid-month so he's taking cupcakes to school Friday then waiting to celebrate his birthday til movie day :) (also my 12th anniversary Friday!)

HMM that's all I can think of, I'll send some pics later gators!

Sorry for the unintentional blog break. I just seem to have very little time to sit down and put 2 coherent thoughts together LOL. Its been a long winter, but I have plenty to occupy me around here of course.

I don't get out a whole lot, its SO. MUCH. WORK. to haul a baby around. He is not even 3 mos yet but weighs over 15 lbs already. I just can't tote him around. And he takes a bottle every 2 hrs thru the day so there is just not time to do anything LOL. I haven't sewn since he was born. I did buy some fabric..washed it..ironed half of it. That took me 5 wks right there!

Little man (left) and my sister's baby (right) who is 10 wks older. Not much difference in size is there?

The kids aren't doing much, we have all been very healthy all winter. Hawgerman just this week got a little sore throat virus but nothing major. He lives for the sunny 50 degree days that come around occasionally. He is definitely a summer child. Lots and LOTS of visiting from my favorite little girl, KL. She's my little nanny helper, she LOVES Little Man and loves to help care for him...she's here from Friday after school til Sun. night after church, then again after school Wed. and goes to youth group and usually spends the night.

No pics of the elusive Wildchild, all he does is argue and thinks he knows it all (he's 16..need I say more?) so who wants a picture of that? LOL

Loveydovey is enjoying jr. high, grades are ok, loving his baby bro. He is counting the days til Little League starts.

In other news..this has totally occupied ALL my free time..

I just started watching it from season 1 in January, and have my whole family hooked. We are midway through season 5 and will be caught up to present day episodes in a week or more. WE ARE TOTALLY ADDICTED its what we talk about, act out, quote from LOL we're all nutty.

Well I hope to get back into the swing of blogging again very soon, hopefully someone still reads this silly blog LOL

Read my Bible everyday. Even if its just one verse. I am also going to be encouraging my family to do the same :)

Be more conscious of putting GOD first (especially in my time spent)
Seek God first, not last (prayer)
Be more organized
Lose 25 lbs
Put more into my Sun. school class (I teach teenagers) and our youth group
More quality time with family...less on the computer ;)

Hello Santa!
As I am sure you know, we had a new baby born this year!
3 wks ago today actually.
I've been very good, I gave up sleep, my figure, and gained tons of new stretch marks this year without complaining (much).
Without further ado I present to you my wish list this year Santa.

First I'd like a nice long bubble bath. The alcohol is optional, as I do not drink. I may take it up though just any time! Because I did just birth my 4th SON and if that's not enough to drive anyone to the booze well..ANYWAY I digress.

While soaking my cares away via Calgon, I'd like the following 3 books to complete this series Santa. You see I'd have to order them and I don't like to spend money on myself you know.

While I am soaking and reading, can you have a Merry Maid come clean my house?
You are the BOMB Santa, make sure she's fatter than me, older than me, and more energetic than me ok? ;) Can't have the Husband getting his eye caught by some of the "maids" I saw while doing a google images search!

Now as you know there is NEVER ENOUGH FABRIC NEVER NEVER so you can always help pad my stash closet with fabric for the new year!

From the electronics department I'd really like the following items :)

A digital frame, because looking at pictures of my kids is so much more peaceful than refereeing fights and disputes, making them share, and dealing with TEENAGERS mouths (enough said!)

And for those days when I just can't tune them out I'd love an MP3 player :)

At then end of the day, I'd like 8 hours of sleep Santa!

Heck I'd settle for 6 hours!

uhhh no I don't want Homer Simpson for Christmas LOL but sleeping sound enough to drool...I remember those days (vaguely!)

38 weeks!
He's still breech.
We'll be delivering via c-section soon.

Next time you see me, I'll be one of the "Biggest Losers"
I'll at least drop the 8 lb or so baby weight off right away LOL.

Pray for me, I am very nervous about the surgery and recovery.
This surprise child continues with the surprises, clearly he's going to keep me on my toes from the get go :)

realistic whinefest

Its rainy and gloomy here today, fits my mood fine. I am miserable. Inside, outside, up and down. Physically, emotionally. MIS-ER-AB-LE. I knew its not much longer...Its just getting soooo hard. I cry all the time, my house is falling apart very fast now that I have slowed down physically. I'm starting to have anxiety about labor/birth/problems. I try to keep that at bay because my mind is my own worse enemy. I have contrax constantly. I go to the dr. next tues. (stupid nurse pract.) then 2 wks after that is my u/s. I am thoroughly convinced he is breech, and if he doesn't move in the next week or so I'm sooo screwed. Everything I eat lately makes me so sick. Every night at bedtime I've been getting HORRIBLE HORRIBLE stomach pain, (gas seems like) has to work its way down to the bottom of the sea overnight. Can't sleep, can't eat, can't clean, my computer is so twitchy and glitchy and I can't find all my restore disks. My belly had a HUGE growth spurt this week, its scary looking now. I outgrew all my maternity clothes from my last pregnancy weeks ago. I have one pair of jeans that fit and two pair of size 4x frumpy sweats. That's IT. Kmart stopped carrying maternity clothes, Target's size 2x stuff is about like a size L in reality. I cried in town the other night with the realization of making due with 1 pr of pants to wear in public for the next 6 wks. To console myself I bought the cutest little snowsuit type thing at Target that looks like a brown bear. (for baby not me lol). I'm SUPER paranoid about flu germs...that occupies my mind as well.

3 most influential people in your life?

I am doing a study on the book SHE'S GONNA BLOW by Julie Ann Barnhill (Barnheart?) its about Mom's dealing with anger issues. Anyway I am keeping a journal of the questions with my answers. I was doing my study this a.m. as the kids got ready for school, (harem scarem way to study but it sort of works for me lol) and one question this morning was~

Name 3 people who have carved themselves on your heart of your life and why.

1. JEANNIE DAVIS (a mom of a boy I liked, her foster son. I was 14. She wouldn't let us *date* but she'd let me come to church with her two sons, foster son, various boys who were friends. When the foster son left, I stayed around, she was my *other mother* until I was grown and she moved out of state. She died about 4 yrs ago of breast cancer) Jeannie taught me how to be the mother I wanted to be, selflessness, standards, and she had a servant's heart.

2. MY NANA she's been gone for 12 years now, and I still catch myself mid-thought of things I want to tell/show/share with her. She was my ROCK my whole life. She taught me unconditional love and attention.

3. MISS JO JOHNSON she was the director and teacher at the Christian school I went to my junior year. She passed away hmm more than 6 yrs ago or so of breast cancer. She taught me tough love, how to put God first, and had very high expectations of me and no doubt I would and could meet them.

Ok so I answered these in my journal, paid a little attention to kids (take meds, brush teeth, tie shoes, PE clothes), switched laundry, refilled coffee. Came back sat down and did the next question without much thought to previous question.

It was, what eternal things do you hope to leave with your kids from you?

My answer~ teaching them to put God first, how to be a servant and unconditional love.

THE EXACT THINGS THAT WERE 'CARVED ON MY HEART' from those ladies above!!!!

James 1:1-2 (NIV) "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."

Our family is going through a *trial*.

My prayer today is to consider it joy. It hurts. But I know that "All things work together for them that love the Lord." Well I DO love the Lord. So I know this will all work out together sometime soon.

I know that "whatsoever satan intends for evil, God will turn to good." I want to focus on seeing the eventual good in this.

I know that "God's mercies are new every morning". I even know they are good every hour. I need Your mercies today Lord. And in an hour, and probably in a minute.

I know that Job was a perfect man, no fault was found in him. God ALLOWED satan to test him. Through the loss of his children, then his livelihood, then his household. Even his wife told him to just "curse God and die". Like Job, I wonder why. But I read God's answer to Job and realize why. That the God that is the creator of the universe, and all that is therein, who formed every living thing, every nonliving thing, hung every moon, star, planet and the sun, who uses the earth as His footstool, He either allowed or dicated this circumstance to fall on us.

My job now is to go through it with my head held high, knowing that "THIS is the day which the LORD has made." THIS day, which hurts, which leaves me broken hearted, which may be the *after* of a *before* we never anticipated. THIS day, when God's mercies are new. THIS day, just like the day Job woke up, prayed and then entered into THIS day.

I may sit in the ashes, but I will not stay there. Because THIS day; "I will rejoice and be glad in it"

THIS day "I can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me."

I will "WAIT upon the Lord to renew my strength, I will mount up with wings as eagles."

I will claim for myself that "I can do ALL. THINGS. through Christ which stregthens me"

I ask for your prayers. And I know God's already answered them.

This IS still a quilting/sewing blog LOL

Some burp cloth bundles I made my sister's cousin-in-law, finished up just in time, I heard she was in the hospital last night having her baby girl :)

If I were selling these in bundles of 6, how much do you think they would be worth, ballpark? They are about the size of a prefold cloth diaper.

Some boy ones made for me, but prettied up to show you LOL

I've made my sister and myself a couple dozen flannel burp cloths! Its very addicting.

This is my baby's bin of homemade burp cloths, receiving blankets etc. I have a few more to make up too. (plus the ones bundled above are not in here)

More fabric goodness to come, stay tuned!

Lovey can't really get his feet wet in places like this very easily so we just don't go.
Maybe we need to rethink ways for Lovey to have fun, because this was a BLAST today :)

I didn't get many good pics, I just wasn't up to following them around this year, matter of fact I was crampy and sore after just a very little while. Thankfully Hubby walked around with them the most.

Only Hawger and Lovey would go, Wildchild says "the fair is stupid". Ok saved me money LOL

Seeing this face shocked me! Its my mom's BFF, her daughter has a camper here and they were there for the weekend LOL. I haven't been to this particular place since I was a kid (Auntie, do you recognize it?) and its quite a ways from my house, well over 50 miles.

Yep BIG BOY E is now 5! He is my youngest sister's only child

This little boy was born 3 full months early. He weighed 1 lb and some change. He is still a very scrawny little squirt LOL but a whole hand years old now.

My friend at One Christian Mom tagged me so I will play along :)

1. I have HORRIBLE anxiety about coming home alone at night to an empty house! Scares me TO DEATH!

2. Cereal and milk makes me sick. I think its that the cereal sweetens the milk? Dunno.

3. I get up to pee at least one time a night (or more) even when I am NOT pregnant.

4. I cannot CAN NOT sleep without a fan.

5. I eat more cinnamon with this pregnancy than any other one food. Except maybe McChicken sandwiches.

6. I have a list of about 3 people that I like to visit me. The rest I hate visits from. I hate drop in visits. I very rarely have long conversations on the phone either. I MUCH prefer internet contact lol.

7. I take chapstick and kleenex with me everywhere I go.

I was reading a book when I was about 12 and came across the word MELANCHOLY. My name is Melody. SOOO many people (including my MIL now!) call me Melanie. I really don't like that but I don't sweat it at this late date. Anyway, when I read this word in print, in my mind I pronounced it mel-ann-coe-lee. I also mind-said muh-cab-ree for macbre LOL. Hubby's very elderly Uncle David at our church always calls me Melancholy, so I rub his buzzed almost bald head and tell him to get a trim he looks like a hippie.

My point is, I am very melanncoelee these days. I don't know if its hormonal (probably), or the end of summer (very possible), or just my natural negative nature. I do know that I don't like it. I've sank very deep into a pit way beyond the blues before and I don't ever want to do that again. I'm reading my Bible every day. I'm enjoying the days home alone between now and baby time. I'm sewing, I'm cleaning. All the things that normally keep me on an even keel..maybe they are keeping me from sinking LOWER but I don't want to even loiter on the edge.

I................can't even think of anything else to say =/
