Most of the groups are made up of 'older' ladies who only want to talk about their health, and any 'young' group is made up of young things that only want to talk about their small children. I'm in the middle. Lucky I have my blog friends.Jennihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15434857739724897230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22535442.post-1160099752436295272006-10-05T20:55:00.000-05:002006-10-05T20:55:00.000-05:00I will be your quilty blog friend who is even youn...I will be your quilty blog friend who is even younger and gets even worse looks.just jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15610582772839917320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22535442.post-1160067172170059052006-10-05T11:52:00.000-05:002006-10-05T11:52:00.000-05:00So sorry you had a bad experience in a quilt shop....So sorry you had a bad experience in a quilt shop. I just don't get it. But like the others said, keep looking, because you will find one that LOVE you and you'll want to return. I love it when the younger generation is getting into quilting-we need to do all we can to encourage them! And you are right--you have your blogger friends and we don't care how old you are! :)Passionate Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15280625610653416523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22535442.post-1160019310449330822006-10-04T22:35:00.000-05:002006-10-04T22:35:00.000-05:00Hey! Maybe they thought they were being efficient, or they were just tuckered out from getting ready for the show, or maybe they just had a fight with a previous customer. Or maybe they just are shy. Sorry, just trying to see it from their point of view. I think that for a class, the friendliness wouldn't matter as their skill level and their ability to impart their knowledge on me.Shelinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09870112367076954109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22535442.post-1159980146989727252006-10-04T11:42:00.000-05:002006-10-04T11:42:00.000-05:00sorry to hear the LQS is so unfriendly :-( I had t...sorry to hear the LQS is so unfriendly :-( I had the opposite experience- I have been ignored by customers in the store where I used to work- even firs time quilters- because clearly I was too young to be able to help them. sigh.

Hooray for your thrifty purchases!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22535442.post-1159969762634966162006-10-04T08:49:00.000-05:002006-10-04T08:49:00.000-05:00i have one LQS that's 4 minutes away from home. And i've heard others say the same thing.
Another quilt shop which is 15 minutes away has the most friendly owner and i have taken all my classes there. I hadn't seen her in the store for over 2 years. But last week i was in there and she still remembered my name and we had a bit of chat. Unfortunately she is selling the business and i know there will be many people who will miss her. By the way, it's the most popular store in the city by far.Cynthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03786984489773680103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22535442.post-1159968451407768812006-10-04T08:27:00.000-05:002006-10-04T08:27:00.000-05:00Yesterday I saw a quilter's calculator at Hobby Lo...Yesterday I saw a quilter's calculator at Hobby Lobby.
